Lana de Souza Lawrence, M.D. attended Howard University as an undergraduate where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She remained at Howard University for her medical education and then went on to medical internship at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. She then attended Johns Hopkins University for residency training in radiation oncology and is currently certified by the American Board of Radiology in radiation oncology. In addition to the American Society for Radiation Oncology, Dr. de Souza Lawrence is a member of the American Brachytherapy Society, The Delaware Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Society for Gynecologic Oncology. She was the recipient of the “2011 ASCO breast Cancer Symposium Award” for breast cancer-based research performed during her residency training. She was also awarded the 2013 American Brachytherapy Society Fellowship for advanced training in high dose rate brachytherapy. Her special interests include the management of breast, lung and gynecologic malignancies
Dr. de Souza Lawrence is in private practice and on the Christiana Care Medical-Dental Staff. She sees patients at Christiana Hospital, Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute and the Concord Health Center.
