Union Hospital and Christiana Care Health System Announce Letter of Intent
Christiana Care Health System and Affinity Health Alliance (Union Hospital) have signed a letter of intent for Union Hospital and its affiliates to join Christiana Care Health System.
With the signing of the letter of intent, the organizations have entered a period of exclusive negotiation and due diligence, expected to take several months. If a final affiliation agreement is reached, an additional period of several months will be required for regulatory approvals.
Union Hospital s a full-service, not-for-profit community hospital in Elkton, Maryland, dedicated to providing personalized, quality health care in a variety of specialties and a continuum of programs to residents of Cecil County and the neighboring communities in Delaware and southern Pennsylvania.
Christiana Care Health System (https://christianacare.org) is a not-for-profit teaching health system based in Delaware that includes two hospitals, home health care, medical aid units and an extensive network of outpatient services. Christiana Care was recently ranked by Forbes Magazine as Delaware’s best employer in 2019, based on an independent study, and is continually ranked as a Best Hospital by U.S. News & World Report.
